What is the difference between Qube and DuProprio?

The biggest difference between Qube and DuProprio is exposure. In Quebec, DuProprio doesn’t have the rights to put you on Centris®, where over 90% of Quebec real estate is sold. Qube is able to list your home on 18 different websites, including REALTOR.ca® and Centris®. Since Centris® is regulated by a government body, the vast majority of serious, pre-approved buyers use it because they are protected. In every other province, DuProprio is able to list through MLS and they go by the name PurpleBricks. However, in Quebec, DuProprio uses other ways of listing your homes, losing out on many serious buyers.

Both Qube and Du Proprio both have low commission rates. However, where DuProprio charges you a $999 fee up front, Qube only charges a small commission fee. Qube charges 1.5% commission fee if a buyer comes direct, and a fee of only 2.5% if there is a collaborating broker. Qube only takes 0.75%, where the remaining 2% is offered to a buyer’s broker as incentive for them to bring clients.

Another related question we often get is: “how can I guarantee that I’d get the same service as a broker who’d charge me 5%?” This is a great question. The 5% commission fee typically charged by brokers was established and normalized during a time where there was no internet, meaning that brokers had to go door-to-door selling your home, or listing them in newspapers.
